The Colors: Kitchen
If you all recall, I fell in love with an intensely green kitchen a while back.
After a lot of searching, I’m pretty sure I’ve found that color. However, the online color swatch that I’ve found looks insanely yellow on my monitor. So if you could just trust me when I say that Benjamin Moore’s Yew Green is a pretty close match (although not QUITE so neon), that’d be awesome.
The logic: the kitchen has a black and white floor, with faux-tile panels that run up 2/3 of the wall, vertically. (I don’t know why there are fake tiles either, I’m not questioning it as I actually like them.) In addition to this, the remaining 1/3 wall has textured paintable wallpaper, with a fairly old-school tin ceiling-esque pattern on it. All of this combined means that the kitchen can either look Old or it can look Retro. I’ve decided to try and push for a more 50s/60s feel with the bright green, which happens to be a color I love and a color experiencing a popularity spike right now. But it should still fit with all of the older elements of the room. Fingers crossed.
