I used to have an old loveseat (something various family members are very proud of because it’s from The Civil War or something, except somebody had it refinished in like the 1970s so it’s not An Antique, it’s just oooold) that I longed to restain and recover. These were my inspiration/reference photos for that project.

I grew up in a house covered with ivy, so years of beating it back every few weeks have removed whatever glamour people usually associate with it. This is really pretty, though. And we end Dining Room Week as we began: with an elaborate chandelier that I like despite how often I’d have to dust it. I really enjoy how they painted all of the wood in other rooms, but kept the trim and beams very dark in the dining room. It creates an enclosed box without weighing the room down entirely (the giant wall of windows helps as well).

Talk about knowing your fucking proportions. Who would ever have thought to put that monstrosity over a square table and some folding chairs?! (Not me. I would not have thought to do that.)
The very pale whites, creams, and pinks are managing to highlight all of the grey/white crystals on the chandelier, instead of the metal. That’s why it’s not eating the entire room.
The house we’re currently trying to buy has 7.5’ ceilings, and I haven’t really cared until now. Sniff, sniff, I will never be able to install a similar ridonk chandelier without risking concussion and death. [plays tiniest interior design violin in the world]

Never let it be said I wasn’t into chairs that are all the same color, as I clearly am. The first photo in particular appeals since they took a bunch of different styles of chair and made them all the same color, which kind of turns them into a set.
